Canadians are living longer today than ever before: average life expectancy has risen from 72, fifty years ago, to 82 today. With longer lives comes significant changes on several fronts: national productivity, health needs, housing, civic engagement, caregiving. ROSSS is a progressive organization that is responsive to the needs of Ottawa South residents, making the region an accessible and vibrant place to call home at any age.
Ongoing consultations with community members confirm that the sparsely populated, large geographic area makes it hard to stay connected. As such, ROSSS offers extensive programming to help seniors remain active and connected in their community.
Adult Day Program
The Adult Day Program provides supervised individual programming in a group setting for older adults, who may be physically frail, cognitively impaired and/or socially isolated. Our program is designed to assist participants in achieving and maintaining their maximum level of functioning, to prevent premature and inappropriate institutionalization and to provide respite and information for caregivers. Program elements include planned social, recreational and physical activities, snacks and lunch. Transportation is available upon request.
Please note that an in-home interview is required to determine eligibility.
